Kilkenny Castle

Built in the 1190s. Ruled by the Butler family since the 1390s. Laid seige to by Oliver Cromwell in 1650. Given back to the "people of Kilkenny" by the Butler family in 1967 (for the sum of £50), it has been under restoration since the 1970s.
