Our friends from Dublin, Katie & Dermot, happened to be visiting Prague this weekend - so we met up for some sightseeing, Catan playing and the eating of way too much pork!
Got to see my step-brother, Andrew, in Prague for the first time in over 15 years. Ate some delicious Czech food, had a good literary discussion and caught up. Thanks for lunch and for the great tour of Prague!
Nürnberg is a cool town and we had a great time exploring during the low season. The below dinner at 'Weinstuben' was the best pork shoulder with sauerkraut I've ever tasted!
Great three story museum. My favourites were the tin soldiers, trains and post-1940's toys (the He-Man universe, legos and hippie barbie and 'her boyfriend ken'). Emily enjoyed the doll kitchens. The 3rd picture down shows how they used to make wooden animal toys - they would cut the outline of the animal in a large circle of wood and then slice it to make the individual animals - one wooden circle could make about 80 animals - pretty cool.
