Climbing the Croagh Patrick

Emily, Katie, Dermot and I headed out to the west coast of Ireland to climb the Croagh Patrick over Easter weekend. The C.P. is a 2,510 ft mountain located a few miles from Westport in County Mayo. Known locally as "the Reek", it is the mountain that Saint Patrick climbed and fasted for forty days in 441 AD. Round trip took us about 4 hrs, with lots of stopping for pictures. Some hike it barefoot - we did not.

Great Picture! I had not heard of Croagh Patrick. Looks like a hoot to climb. Keep posting the pics. Love seeing different countries.
